School tournament checklist
Use this as an operational list. Theory of committees is in Class 12 Unit 1.
Three weeks before
- Written permission from the principal; date that does not clash with exams.
- Name the organising secretary and the chief referee.
- Budget: balls, lime/tape, certificates, water, first-aid restock, officials’ tea.
- Circular to classes with events, age groups, last date of entry.
Ten days before
- Close entries. Number the teams. Draw fixtures in public (or publish the seeding rule).
- Book the ground; check pits, posts, nets.
- Confirm a first-aid person and a vehicle plan for hospital.
- Print score sheets with event name, round, and signature line.
Match day
- Ground committee marks courts before the first assembly.
- Officials committee briefs umpires for 10 minutes: timing, protest rule, dissent.
- Results committee writes winners in ink; no overwriting without an initial.
- Water and shade; stop play if lightning or extreme heat as per school policy.
After the event
- Prize list signed by the principal.
- Accounts: receipts attached.
- One-page report: number of participants, injuries (if any), what to change next year.
Club-scale software example: Alwar Cup public portal (draws, results, certificate verify). Registration for that event is a separate coach workflow.
