M.P.Ed after B.P.Ed
M.P.Ed means Master of Physical Education. It is usually a two-year (four-semester) postgraduate programme for people who already hold B.P.Ed or an equivalent PE degree accepted by that university.
The filename of this page includes “2026” because it was first published for that admission cycle. Rules for a new session come only from the new prospectus.
No fee table is published here. Assistant Professor posts normally need UGC NET (or equivalent) in addition to M.P.Ed — M.P.Ed alone is not a guarantee of a college job.
Eligibility (typical)
- B.P.Ed from a recognised university, with the percentage that university asks.
- Entrance test and/or PFT if notified.
What the two years are for
Compared with B.P.Ed, M.P.Ed goes deeper into research methods, measurement, advanced training theory, and a dissertation or project. That is the bridge to Ph.D work.
Admission and documents
- B.P.Ed marksheets and degree/provisional
- 10th/12th and graduation papers as asked
- Sports certificates only if weightage is written in the notice
After M.P.Ed
- Senior-secondary PE teaching where rules require a master’s.
- College teaching: usually NET + interview; see interview preparation for school-level demos (college panels differ).
- Coaching and sports science roles if you add sport-specific qualifications (for example NIS diplomas) — those are separate certificates.
