B.P.E.S: undergraduate sports degree after Class 12
B.P.E.S means Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports. It is an undergraduate programme (commonly three or four years, depending on the university). It is not the same as B.P.Ed, which is usually a two-year programme after graduation.
Who should consider it
Students who have finished 10+2 and want sports science, coaching and PE theory without first completing another bachelor’s degree. If your only goal is the shortest school-teaching diploma after 12th, compare D.P.Ed.
Typical eligibility (verify the prospectus)
- 10+2 from a recognised board.
- A minimum percentage if the university sets one.
- PFT or sports certificate preference only if listed.
How it differs from B.P.Ed
| B.P.E.S | B.P.Ed | |
|---|---|---|
| Usual entry | After 12th | After graduation |
| Usual length | 3–4 years | 2 years |
| Use | UG sports/PE degree | Professional teacher education (often NCTE) |
Study areas you should expect
Universities mix sports training, physiology, psychology, fitness, management and practicals. After B.P.E.S many students later apply for B.P.Ed if a recruitment rule requires it — that is a second programme, not automatic.
Documents
- 10th and 12th marksheets (name and date of birth)
- Transfer / migration as asked
